Childrens Doctor Costumes Ideas
Typical Childrens Doctor Costumes would be a set of scrubs.
That is the term used
for the outfit that most doctors and nurses wear these
days. What that entails is a pair of pull up slacks with either elastic or a tie
waist, and a v-necked pull over shirt that is usually short sleeved with a
pocket in it. Most doctors would also have a stethoscope, a mask for surgery and
a cap to cover their hair. Some doctors also have a lab coat.
Scrubs are made of a cotton fabric. In the past scrubs were green for the
doctors in surgery and the nurses always wore white. Studies have shown that
when the nurses and doctors wear colorful scrubs that it is good for the patient
morale, so more of the hospital staff now wear vibrant colors or pastels in the
ward where the babies are.
The child that is dressing up like a doctor would want to decide what kind of
doctor to be. There is the surgeon who would need to have a mask for over his
mouth and a cap for his hair. An old fashioned doctor might carry a black bag
with his stethoscope and medicine in it when he goes to see his patients. There
might be bottles of pills to give to the sick, which of course would be great
candy for the patient to eat.
An army doctor might wear fatigues. The costume could be one of the mad
scientist doctors instead of a doctor from Mash. A western doctor would have a
black bag but also would need a buggy and horse to get to his patient. The
childrens doctor costumes could be any of these or a variety of others.
Of course on the other side of this coin, are the doctors from the horror shows.
Their uniform would be covered with blood, guts and gore. They might carry a
head under their arm instead of a stethoscope around their neck. They might have
electrodes on their heads instead of a cap to cover their hair. They are the
type doctor that the imagination cannot hold down, as there are no boundaries on
horror show doctors.
As you can see, the childrens doctor costumes can vary quite a bit from the
traditional to the outrageous. It all depends on what type persona you want the
